    1. Good point Navreet. I wonder why the author has done this? Can you think of any reasons?

  3. The author has used a lot of speech marks e.g
"My mother said it's dangerous up there", he said, "but it's worth it, hey?
In that sentence the author didn't only use speech marks he also used
    commas and question marks.

  4. Mostly the author is using speech marks, full stop, and
    question marks.
    E.G.
But Spike was already on the top. "Hurry up," he yelled,
throwing open the access hatch. "It's scorching up here."

  5. the author uses alot of punctuation as it is needed. these include-comas, full stops, speech marks and many more. of there werent any punctuation the sentences wouldnt make sense.
e.g: if there were no full stops or comas the sentences would go forever and there wont be any breaks
if there were no speech marks then we wont undersand who's talking and wont understand their expression, especially if there were no ! or ?

  6. The font (italic) on the first page reminds me of the kind of writing from a famous saying but on the other pages, the font reminds me of a story.

The man on the second page is looking at the watertower and also, everyone has the symbol from the watertower on their hats so I assume that its a tourist attraction, but the guy at the end of the line doesn't have the hat, and also the kids, so I assume that the man with the hat without the symbol is the kids father and they are from somewhere else because everyone looks like they aren't from the city while the kids look like they are here for a summer vacation

    1. Good connection Connor. The italic writing reminds me of the Moby Dick quotes in the beginning of each Part of Don't call me Ishmael.

the author used alot of puncuation in the text by putting heaps of full stops, commas, speech marks and questions which leaves you hanging with suspense.some examples are "its sort of green.like moss. like slimy, dead moss."

The punctuation is there to make sense, if it doesn't have any punctuation it wouldn't make any sense at all. It would just be a huge paragraph, never ending and with no breaks, making no sense at all. So, all these punctuation is needed for the paragraph/sentence to make sense.

    For example;
"Nobody in Preston could remember when the watertower was built, or who built it, But there it stood on Shooters Hill- Its irons legs rusted, its egg-shaped tank warped and leaking - casting a long, dark shadow across the valley, across Preston itself."

that has alot of punctuation because it is needed. If you read this without the puncutation, it wouldn't make sense, would it?

bubba was scared because the watertower was no ordinary there is a deep evil suspense behind it and bubba could feel that.

The book the watertower is packed with alot of punctuation to illustrate many different themes these include suspense, tension, fright and many other.Parts in the book that portray the use of puntuation are Bubba nodded "i'll wait here.I'll get back down out of the sun. Will you be long ?"
IN this wonderful book we would have not got the same emotion without punctuation with it we get the felling that bubba is sort of worried.

WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!!!! Anyway on most people in the book if you look closely in most peoples eyes you may be able to see a shining light in the middle of there eyriss or however you spell it which seems to resemble that they have been in the water tower also it looks like the shining light makes the middle of there eye(because i can not spell eyries) look like the water tower so thats what the water tower might do to them.

we found commas and dashes on the first page, we think that it sets the scenary and makes it seem like the town is possessed. we also found question marks on the second page eg.

"but its worth it, hey?" -it makes us answer the question it in our mind like, is it really worth it?

we also think it is like the movie the host ,when the aliens possessed the humans and we think aliens control the town or dead people ,but in this case we think its aliens

how come the people don't go to the water tower but only spike and bubba?

why was spike having fun at the water tower?

why did bubba go down i the water tower naked?

why did spike not answer when bubba called him?

  16. I think the claw thing is a rake because on page 21-22 the man is holding a rake. Also on page 23 you can see the rake or (claw) continuously. On page 24-25 you can see the zoomed in picture of Bubba and it looks like he is staring at the rake or (claw) because you can see it in his eyes. I think the theme right now is really nerve racking especially for Bubba he is so scared and you can see it through his facial expression just standing there at the water tower and waiting. On page 16 in the back round you can see a claw shape were spike is running away from. Also on the fourth page you can see it on the small picture.

  17. Don't call me ishmael !!
Why does ishmael miss most of the oppositions points?
Because ishmael was focused on kelly. here are some
    e.g
kelly faulker stood up, walked bristly to the front of the
room, took a breath, looked up and smiled.

what about her voice? it sounded like... i don't know...like
something happy....something warm and friendly and
close... like secert or a christmas present or something.
And those eyes......how do you make your eyes smile?
my eyes are siting there like a couple of dead bugs.
