At the start of the book the colours were really dull but as we got through the book everyone was happy and the colours changed and became brighter

we think the colours were dull because no one was happy and they weren't happy because they were alone. The colours started to change when the got the dog because the dog brought them closer.

    2. I agree with you Vanessa and melody, the closer the boy and dog get the more colours the author adds in.

    3. And they started dull then on page 3 they added in green
On page 5 they added a bit of red
On page 9&10 the author started adding some yellow

like when Jeremy was grinning because they made him a new leg and at the end of the book it said 'the empty place inside George didn't seem so empty anymore. And the three of them lived happily ever after for a very long time.

We think that it was sad when George and his Grandmother made legs for Jeremy/the dog.

And we wonder what the thing was on the right of the white dog was?

We Agree Zachary/Zac it was very dull and the book was a sad book and happy book that is why it's called The BIG LITTLE BOOK of HAPPY SADNESS.

We wonder why the white dog get's treated better than Jeremy?

I have a connection to book to movie. The movie is called sandlot because in the movie has a big dog and in the book there's a big dog next to the white dog. Ethan

We wonder why on the first page Jeremy just left his kite on the ground?

We wonder why they made Jeremy a wooden leg with a slipper on the end for bedtime?

We both agree with Danny G and the Calvins because The Big Little Book of Happy Sadness is way better then Home and Snow White. Snow White was a stupid retake on the regular Snow White because the cherry got stuck it her throat and Home was just a boring book because the falcon was just being stupid with thinking that the city was the forest.

  13. At the start of the book the colors were really dull. E.g. At the dog shelter the colors were dull.
And near the end the colors were bright and happy. E.g. On the last page when the dog is juggling.
I think it's like this to show how the story went from sad to happy.

we think that at the start of the book he is all sad and lonely, thats why the colours are really dull.
He finds himself at the dog shelter where he feels good about himself. When he finds out that its Jeremy's last day he begs his grandmother for him. More colour is introduced into the book. Now that he has the dog the colours are bright and you can tell that he is happy. He might of been bullied at school because it said that he was all lonely.

The reason it was dull and sad for George was because he was lonely and it was the same for Jeremy it was like there hearts opened when they saw each other and they saw each others sad lives so they were the perfect match fOR ONE ANOTHER that it made the story so complete. it made us cry.

In our perspective the author has used colours to show the emotions of the characters e.g.page1
it's all sad with the light shining in the middle not on the characters compared to the last few pages, everything is bright and the light shines on the characters.

We agree with phoebe and isabella the book was great.
The plot was well chosen and the way the author on every page added on more colour was good,
also at the start we could not see george's face but at the end it was very clear and happy.

for us the illustrations were funny because all the people were fat and the dog only had three legs which was really funny for both of us to look at. The illustrations from the start to the end, adds one more color in each page. It has another meaning to the book.

The book show's and gives george the personalty of love and care because he saved the dog form being put. we wonder why the author decided to take on this storyline.
